Marathon Kids and Academy Sports + Outdoors are Stronger Together
Marathon Kids and Academy Sports + Outdoors have been working together in Central Texas over the past three years with a shared goal to get kids active! As we wrap up this school year we want to thank Academy Sports and Outdoors for their continued support of Marathon Kids. Marathon Kids benefits from the Academy Gives program and believes in Academy Sports + Outdoors three pillars of social impact.

Academy Sports + Outdoors encourages safety so that everyone can feel confident and comfortable doing what they love. They help people gear up properly for sports and outdoor activities, and we promote ways to be smart and stay safe.

Academy Sports + Outdoors makes it possible for people to enjoy more sports and outdoor activities. They believe being active is an essential part of life. They motivate people to try new things and give them opportunities to enjoy a variety of fun activities.
Connect
Academy Sports + Outdoors creates ways for members of the community to connect and have fun with each other. They build connections within the community by supporting events, programs, and organizations like Marathon Kids that make a positive impact.
It is easy to see why Marathon Kids and Academy Sports + Outdoors are great partners. Their financial support has allowed us to continue the development of the Marathon Kids Connect platform and digital tracking system. We supported more than 40,000 kids in central Texas this year, helping them crush their goals and create lasting habits of being active and healthy.
Academy partnered with Marathon Kids during the pandemic to provide sporting equipment for kids that were having to learn remotely. We were able to distribute gear and games through the free and reduced lunch program with the assistance of the Central Texas PTA.
As kids returned to school this year, Academy renewed their support of Marathon Kids and once again, we were able to provide the support and service necessary for the district wide implementation of Marathon Kids in Austin.
We look forward to the years ahead and growing our partnership with Academy across the state of Texas and United States.
