MARY RICE-BOOTHE, ED.D.
Mary is the Founder of Leading-Within, LLC, where she supports education leaders by strengthening contextual intelligence, developing practical tools, and advancing best practices through research and writing. She also founded THINK360 Academy, a microschool created to meet the needs of neurodivergent students. A lifelong educator who found long distance running later in life, Mary was drawn to the Marathon Kids board because it blends her two passions in a meaningful way.

She believes deeply in the physical, emotional, and mental benefits of movement and wants children to experience those impacts from a young age. Mary loves reading, especially memoirs and narrative nonfiction, and can often be found browsing her local library or favorite used bookstore. Her perfect run begins at sunrise along a waterfront boardwalk with a cool breeze, offering a moment of clarity before the day starts.

A Marathon Kid in her youth, Amanda joined the board to support a mission that shaped her own relationship with movement. She loves dancing, cooking with loud music, and finding joy in everyday moments.

As a long distance runner, Amanda sees running as a journey of mental strength and personal growth. She shares miles with her dog Rosie, who brings infectious energy and a big grin to their runs around Lady Bird Lake. Her NYC Marathon experience remains unforgettable, especially the moment a volunteer recognized her Marathon Kids hat and shared that they also participated in the program as a child.
