Marathon Kids does not use student data for advertising or commercial purposes. We make every effort to operate under the direct control of educational institutions and comply with FERPA, COPPA, and state-level privacy laws.

Information Collected

• Full name, grade, homeroom, gender (optional), institute issued ID (optional)
• Participation logs (laps, distance, date/time)
• Assigned student ID

Purpose of Data Use

• Generate student and club progress reports
• Support grant/funder reporting (aggregated only)
• Enable parents and schools to view achievement milestones

Safeguards

• Only authorized staff can access student data
• Data is encrypted and stored in secure U.S.-based data centers
• We maintain a breach response plan and notify stakeholders as required

Retention and Deletion

• Retained only as long as necessary to serve the educational program
• Deleted or anonymized upon school/district request
• Data accuracy reviews available upon guardian request
