Marathon Kids, Inc. Announces New CEO

The Marathon Kids, Inc. Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Wendy Wheless Cluley as the organization’s new Chief Executive Officer. Wendy will begin her role effective August 28, 2023, with transition support from outgoing CEO Cami Hawkins. 

Wendy brings a unique blend of passion and expertise, with both nonprofit and for-profit  leadership to the organization. She is an accomplished nonprofit executive having managed revenue generation and business development for Texas Exes, and has an impressive track record of sponsorship negotiation for brands across several industries. A brand marketer at heart, she has worked with some of the world’s most recognizable brands, and has owned and operated her own consultancy for the past six years. Wendy’s strength in the areas of strategic planning and marketing, and her dynamic, people-first approach make her an exceptional choice for the organization. She is also an avid marathon runner, Boston qualifier, and mother of three who has a very personal connection to the mission of the organization.

Wendy is a graduate of the Moody College of Communication at The University of Texas at Austin with an MBA from the Texas McCombs School of Business. As an active community leader, she serves on the board of directors and as chair of the stewardship committee for the Sustainable Food Center, and as current chair of the McCombs School of Business MBA Alumni Advisory Board.
