Austin Marathon Kids — On Saturday, Feb 21, thousands of Central Texas area K-5th grade school children and parents ceremonially complete their running/walking 26.2 miles in increments of 1/2 to 1/4 mile at a time over six months.. They were also challenged to eat 26.2 days a month of 5-a-day fruits and veggies, coloring in their “Fuel Logs”. Together in a free, glorious, ceremonial Final Mile Medal Celebration, they will complete their last mile of their marathon, with other Central Texas families.
This year 56,000 K-5th graders have registered in the Austin area.

- 9 AM event for AISD students
- 11 AM event for non-AISD students, including homeschools and private schools
For the 9AM group only: Due to the congestion between events, we have altered the parking plan. This plan will help aleviate the traffic problem, and hopefully help you have a more pleasant experience. The 9am, AISD group will be directed by AISD Police Officers to park on the southside lot, closest to Jones road, and to exit the same side (on the Jones road side). There will be signs and attendants to direct you back to 290. If you have any concerns or questions regarding this change, please contact us at 477-1259.
For the 11AM group: Participants should park on the north side (closer to 290), and exit that side as well.
The event will be held rain or shine - please arrive on time and dress appropriately!
